Todd Gurley joining Trump on Air Force One for Georgia rally

Former Georgia football star Todd Gurley will be riding aboard Air Force One with President Donald Trump for his trip to Georgia on Friday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Greg Bluestein reports.
Gurley is not the first or only Georgia football figure Trump has had at an event in this election cycle. Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton appeared at a Trump campaign stop in Rome in February.
Also notably, Georgia football legend Herschel Walker was supported by Trump in a challenge of Democratic U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock in 2022. Walker lost that race, but Trump later named him as U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.
The president is campaigning in Dalton on Friday afternoon, marking his third visit to Georgia this year. Trump is expected to speak at 2:45 p.m.
Gurley, who played with the Los Angeles Rams and the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL, starred in Athens from 2012-2014, racking up 3,285 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns. He was the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
