Lee County’s Fabrizio, Sequoyah’s Teter are longest-tenured coaches in 6A
Each hired in 2009, both coaches are beginning their 18th seasons.

1 hour agoDean Fabrizio and James Teter, each hired in 2009, have been at their Class 6A schools the longest. Fabrizio’s hire was ranked the third best this century in a 2025 AJC article. He won state titles in 2016 and 2017. Teter has led Sequoyah to consecutive 11-win seasons. In 2025, he became the all-time winningest coach in Cherokee County, surpassing his predecessor, Sid Maxwell.
