UGA commit Jacob Eason is competing alongside the nation’s best quarterbacks at the Elite 11 QB competition this week at Nike headquarters in Oregon.
The nation’s No. 1-rated quarterback will also participate in “The Opening” all-star competition later this week.
One of the things Eason is looking forward to is working with some speedy receivers.
"I've never thrown with speed — and I'm seeing these guys numbers and it's just crazy to me," Eason said in an interview with MaxPreps.
“I like to test my arm out, and I think I’ll be able to launch it with these guys. Also, the other thing is the defense. We’re going to have to be on point, getting the playbook and know where we are going because this defense is no joke. It’s going to be a challenge, but it will be really fun.”
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound quarterback will play on Team Fly Rush with some big UGA targets. Eason will have the opportunity to throw to Savannah Christian Prep WR Demetris Robinson and Archer WR Kyle Davis, while recent UGA de-commit E.J. Price blocks for Eason on the offensive line.
You’ll be able to watch Eason and the UGA targets perform Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
