An Oklahoma family escaped a house fire early Monday morning with the help of a child.
Around 4:30 a.m., firefighters were called to the home.
Crews say one grandchild woke to a popping noise. She woke her mother, grandmother and two siblings. The family told FOX23 that 8-year-old saved everyone's lives.
By the time firefighters arrived, half of the house was already on fire, including the living, dining room and kitchen.
Firefighters say the family had no working smoke detectors, and they believe the fire started on the couch.
