Turning 30 is a big deal in the human world, but in the animal world it can be unheard-of, especially when the birthday boy is a panda.
Pan Pan is now the world's oldest male giant panda living in captivity, GB Times reported.
Pan Pan is helping make sure the species doesn't go extinct. He has fathered 130 cubs over the past 30 years, People reported.
He is known as "hero dad."
Pan Pan isn't the oldest panda. Jia Jia, a female panda from Hong Kong, is 37.
Pan Pan celebrated his birthday with an ice cake that was decorated with carrots.
