Why travel to Paris to stay near the Eiffel Tower when you can stay in it?

Vacation rental company HomeAway has a contest that will let four lucky winners do just that -- stay overnight inside the iconic structure.

Winners can invite up to five guests and will be among the first people ever to stay in the tower in its 129-year history.

A makeshift bedroom and living space will be set up in the tower's first floor to serve as a temporary apartment.

The prize package also includes a three-night stay somewhere else in the city and round-trip transportation costs.

The overnight stays are four days in June and July during the Union of European Football Association's 2016 European championship.

The company's CEO told Mashable that convincing the city of Paris was a "very, very long process." He also said he thought the Paris attacks had hurt tourism and the contest could change that.

Hopeful contestants must answer this question in 140 characters or less: What would you do if the Eiffel Tower was all yours for the night?

While the HomeAway offering is temporary, its chief marketing officer said in a press release that more events are in the works this summer.

Winners will be announced June 10.
