The legendary toy retailer Toys R Us is closing its stores for good this week, and many across social media are saying their goodbyes.

The New Jersey-based company, which declared bankruptcy in September as competition from Walmart Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. hurt sales, announced that Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores will shut its doors by Friday, June 29.
On the official last day of business, people flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts about the closings. Several said they were sad.

Others reflected on their childhood. Tweeps said they looked forward to visiting the store as a kid.
A number of folks posted photos to express their grief. A lot of the images were of people crying hysterically.

And a few hoped the franchise would be revived.
