‘Is this real?’: The internet thinks Rihanna is pregnant

Wondering why Rihanna is trending? Well, the internet thinks she is expecting her first child.

Hours after the Diamond Ball, the star's annual gala that benefits her Clara Lionel Foundation, "Rihanna," "Ri Ri" and "Rihanna is pregnant" all became trending topics on Twitter.

Where’s the proof?

During the fifth annual event, the singer chatted it up with Essence magazine about her love for black women and seemingly hinted at a possible pregnancy.

“I’m a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman,” she said. “And I’m going to give birth to a black woman.”

The singer also appears to have a rounder belly than usual in a viral video of her performing at the affair.

Although the fashion designer has not confirmed a pregnancy, fans are now convinced she’s about to become a mother. And they’re flooding social media with their thoughts.

Many seemed to be shocked and confused, using gifs and memes to express their reactions.

Others, who are craving new music from the songstress, feared a possible pregnancy could delay her next album.

Some joked they were disappointed they weren’t the father of the alleged child or weren’t Rihanna’s offspring.

And a few said they were brushing off the rumors until Rihanna confirmed the news herself. A couple even said she was probably just bloated.
