3. His life before the Paris attacks: He once worked as a mechanic, then managed a family-owned bar. He also allegedly was involved in petty crime and known to local authorities before the Paris attacks.

4. His role in the attacks: It is believed Abdeslam was involved in the logistics of the attacks, renting hotel rooms and cars for the attackers.
