A warning came about an hour before the city rang in the new year.

An additional warning from Munich Police was released just after midnight on their Facebook page:
"Due to hints taken seriously by the Munich Police there is the danger of a terrorist attack in the area of Munich during this night.
The Munich Police recommends the citizens to keep away from crowds, as well as to avoid the Munich Central Station and the railway Pasing station.
We work with great force on the settlement of the situation as well as the inquiry of Possible Suspects.
The Police of Munich will inform you about the progress of the Regularly Developments."

Munich police have sent multiple warnings on social media asking people to stay away from train stations and not to gather.

~5:00 PM ET "Pasing railway station and Central station are already granted. The trains No Longer Run This! Please note the instructions of the police."
