Misao Okawa, the world's oldest person, died Wednesday of heart failure, The Associated Press reports. She was 117.
Okawa, a resident of Osaka, Japan, was born in 1898 and just celebrated her birthday March 5.
When asked about the key to her long life earlier this month, Okawa said, "I wonder about that, too."
Okawa is survived by six great-grandchildren and four grandchildren, according to the AP.
The world's oldest person is now Gertrude Weaver, a 116-year-old from Arkansas.
