The ride-hailing company made the announcement earlier this week, revealing that it would be collaborating with Udacity to launch "Intro to Self-Driving Cars."

The four-month course, which will cost $800, will cover topics including machine learning, object-oriented programming, and probabilistic robotics. And 400 qualified students will be awarded scholarships to pay for it.

“Diversity is crucial for creating solutions that serve everyone, and ridesharing is for everyone. That’s why these scholarships will specifically target communities that are underrepresented in technology in the U.S.,” Lyft said in a  press release.

U.S. residents who are at least 18-years-old with some programming experience will be eligible to apply, and those who graduate from the program will automatically be admitted into Udacity's Self-Driving Car Engineer program.

Applicants can apply for the course now until Oct. 10 and the scholarship now until Oct. 1. Winners of the scholarship will be announced Oct. 10.
