Earlier this week, Kanye West returned to Twitter, expressing his thoughts on creativity and fashion. Now he’s taken to the platform to announce two new albums.
On Thursday afternoon, he rolled out the details of his latest work in a chain of tweets. The first announcement read, “my album is 7 songs.” Then he revealed the release date: June 1.
The news spread quickly, and several fans flocked to social media to express their thoughts with GIFs and memes. Tons were excited about the new music.
Some were bummed that his solo album would only include seven tracks. They were hoping for more.
On the other hand, a few were predicting who would be featured on the projects. Many guessed Travis Scott, Nas and others.
Several were just excited that so many hip-hop albums were coming out in time for summer. J. Cole is releasing “KOD” Friday, and Drake will also have new music in June.
And according to another chain of tweets from West, his label mates, Teyana Taylor and Pusha T, will soon be releasing new albums as well.
