Fans, celebrities mourn death of Chicago rapper Fredo Santana on social media

Hip-hop fans and celebrities are mourning the loss of rapper Fredo Santana after news of his death broke early Saturday.

Born Derrick Coleman, the musician was a well-known artist. He gained recognition for his 12 mixtapes and debut studio album “Trappin Ain't Dead,” which was released in 2013. Throughout his career, he worked with Migos, Soulja Boy and more, and he made a cameo appearance in Drake’s music for “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”

Last October, he revealed on Instagram that he was suffering from liver failure and died just a few months later.

As details regarding his death hit the internet, many flocked to social media to express their condolences. Several said they were shocked to hear about his passing.

Others complimented his work ethic, sharing how much he influenced the culture. They heralded him as a pioneer in the industry.
