A tractor-trailer struck a bucket-type truck Tuesday afternoon in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75, injuring the man working in the truck.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the bucket-truck was parked on the right shoulder of the road and was hit by a tractor-trailer as the large truck was changing lanes. The man in the truck was thrown into the roadway on impact, authorities said. It is not clear exactly where the worker was on the truck.

Several emergency vehicles responded to the scene in Adairsville near exit 306 around 3 p.m. Traffic was impacted while several lanes were closed.

The injured man was transported to Cartersville Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.
