A woman stranded on a rock in the Chattahoochee River near Peachtree Creek has been rescued.

The woman was pulled from the water a short time after Atlanta police and firefighters were dispatched to the river, Atlanta fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said in a statement emailed to media outlets just before 3 p.m. Monday.

The woman was taken to a boat ramp at James Jackson Parkway and Grady Memorial Hospital was on the way to the scene, Ward said.
