A 57-year-old Cobb County woman died Friday afternoon in a wreck involving a tractor-trailer, according to police.
The wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. on Mableton Parkway, south of Dodgen Road, according to Sgt. Dana Pierce.
Investigators believe Barbara Sims, of Mableton, was attempting to turn onto Mableton Parkway from the Sierra Forest apartments when the driver’s side of her 2012 Ford Festiva was hit by a tractor-trailer, Pierce said. The 1998 Freightliner truck was traveling southbound on Mableton Parkway at the time of the crash, according to police.
Sims died at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver, Moses Asemota, 54, of Conley, was not injured, police said. Asemota is not expected to face charges.
The wreck remains under investigation, Pierce said. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 770-499-3987.
