The GBI is asking for the public’s help after a 26-year-old woman was found dead outside a Gainesville apartment complex Tuesday morning.

The state agency is investigating alongside Gainesville police after Lilian “MaryJane” Andrade’s body was spotted in the parking lot of a complex in the 600 block of Tate Street near Browns Bridge Road. Officers were called to the scene about 2:30 a.m., according to Gainesville police spokeswoman Cpl. Jessica Van.

“Foul play is suspected and an autopsy is scheduled to confirm cause of death,” she said in an email.

In the meantime, investigators are searching for anyone with information about Andrade’s whereabouts on Monday night. Those with information about the case are urged to call the GBI at 1-800-597-8477 or Gainesville police at 770-533-5873. Tips can also be submitted online.
