The woman killed Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Forsyth County has been identified as Lesia Elaine Bennett, 43, of Cumming.

A Mercury Mountaineer SUV and a Nissan Titan pickup truck collided at the intersection of Ga. 9 and North Atlanta Road, south of Cumming, shortly before 5 p.m., pushing the SUV into a school bus that was stopped at a red light, according to Karleen Chalker with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The wreck closed the intersection for almost two hours.

Bennett, who was driving the SUV, was transported to Northside Hospital Forsyth, where she later died, Chalker said. The 17-year-old driver of the Nissan, Antonio Aguilera Mora of Cumming, was treated at Northside Hospital Forsyth and released.

No students were on the bus at the time of the wreck, and the bus driver was not injured, according to police.

The wreck remains under investigation.
