A traffic stop in Alabama led to a Cobb County woman’s arrest in connection with a Sept. 14 double homicide in Sandy Springs, police said Tuesday.

Zusi Aguirre, 25, of Mableton, was arrested in Mobile, Ala., and charged with two counts of felony murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to Sgt. Ron Momon with Sandy Springs police.

“Information on the shooting was given to investigators after the woman was stopped for traffic charges in Mobile,” Momon stated in a press release.

Byron Caceres, 23, of Norcross, and Eulalio "Freddie" Mederos-Vega, 27, of Sandy Springs, were found dead about 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 inside an apartment in the 200 block of Franklin Road, according to police. Both had been shot.

No information on a possible motive was released Tuesday.

Aguirre was being held in a Mobile jail awaiting extradition to Georgia, Momon said.
