Atlanta police Tuesday morning were looking for the two men who beat a woman overnight in the parking lot of Phipps Plaza and stole her car.

According to a police incident report, the victim was leaving the Twist Restaurant & Tapas Bar at the Peachtree Road mall just before midnight when she was assaulted by two men in their 20s as she approached her BMW.

The victim and witnesses told police that the men demanded her vehicle, “yelling, ‘Give us your [expletive] car,’ and ‘Give us your keys or I will [expletive] shoot you,’ as they were beating her to the ground,” the report states.

The woman told police that after beating her for about two minutes, the suspects took her keys and her purse and drove off in her car. Witnesses in the area heard the victim scream and called 911, Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police said the victim sustained “severe bruising as well as swelling and lacerations to her face.” She was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.

This is the second beating in the past seven days in metro Atlanta. Tina Waddell, 42, was brutally attacked last Tuesday while walking along the Silver Comet Trail near the Paulding County apartment complex where she lives with her husband. Every bone in her face was broken and she will have to have her jaw wired shut for four to six weeks, Waddell's husband told reporters last week.

The descriptions of the suspects in the beatings differ. In the Silver Comet Trail attack, authorities described the suspect as a white man with dark hair. In the latest case, police described the suspects as two black men in their early 20s who sped out of the Phipps Plaza parking lot with the victim’s BMW and drove west onto Peachtree Road.

Officers tried to track down the location of victim’s iPhone, but it was turned off. Anyone who sees a silver 2007 BMW 5 Series with Georgia tag BLA 8978 is asked to call 911.
