The security guard critically injured during the FedEx shooting on Tuesday has come out of a third surgery with positive results, his wife says.

Christopher Sparkman was shot in the stomach from three feet away when 19-year-old Geddy Kramer went on a shooting rampage at the FedEx Ground facility near Kennesaw on Tuesday morning that injured six people.

Kramer then turned his shotgun on himself, committing suicide, police said.

Sparkman’s wife said her husband is recovering.

"My husband, Christopher Sparkman, is out of surgery and by the grace of God on the road to recovery," Jamie Lynn Sparkman said in an emailed statement. "The recovery process will be a long one, but he will have the love and support of his family each step of the way."

She said she is grateful for all of the support and well-wishes her family has received since her husband’s injury.

“I cannot express enough thanks for all the well wishes, prayers and care that Christopher has received,” she said.

Jamie Lynn Sparkman asks for privacy to allow her husband to recover. He is one of two shooting victims who remain in the hospital.
