When Suarez died in March, family members gathered for her funeral in Cuernavaca, about 830 miles away from Suarez's home in Merida, the Huffington Post reports. There, something strange happened.

"Out of nowhere, a pack of dogs entered the room where the ceremony was being held and they settled in ... with those who were there," Urrutia said in a Facebook post, according to a Huffington Post translation. "They stayed all night as if they were protecting her. In the morning, they left and haven't been seen anywhere, but one hour before taking Mama away, they came back and visited again like as if to say goodbye. Urrutia said her brother-in-law had never seen the dogs before, and the family believes they were paying tribute to Suarez.
