The principal noticed Cross, and called police, despite the fact she thought the gun was plastic.

As the police department spokesman told the paper, "the way things are today, you can't have that."

Dismissal was delayed as police arrested Cross.

He was charged with disturbing a school and loitering within 1,000 feet of a school.
