Police arrived at the home at 1:30 a.m. Monday to find Beard and Canipe had "assaulted each other by throwing pizza roles (sic) at each other."

The Gaston Gazette reported, citing arrest records, that the couple told authorities they share an apartment.

Gaston County police spokeswoman Donna Lahser told BuzzFeed News police are not yet able to give details about the dispute.

The Gaston Gazette reported Beard was charged with assault on a female, a misdemeanor that could lead to a maximum punishment of  60 days in jail or community service depending on the judge's ruling if he is found guilty.

Canip was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor which, if found guilty, could lead to a maximum 30 days in jail or of community service, also depending on the judge's ruling.

Beard and Canipe were both released from Gaston County Jail after posting $2,500 bail.
