Dave Riggs showed off an amazing shot of the shark, posting on Facebook: "This is how a great white 'sniffs'. We must protect this magnificent creature!"

According to the Sydney Morning HeraldRiggs said the shark was "extremely inqusitive of what we were and what we were doing."

So as Riggs was shooting off the coast of South Australia, up popped the shark -- and crew member Luke Thom shot the picture, according to the Herald.

"She was around 15 foot long, and wasn't being aggressive, believe it or not, but certainly looks like it in that image," Riggs told ABC Goldfields.
