The driver was on the turnpike at 4 a.m. on Saturday when "a wild turkey popped up and smashed through his windshield," the Martin County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post. According to the Sheriff's Office, "the impact forced the turkey between the driver and the passenger and into the back seat."

The driver was able to avoid crashing or rolling the vehicle and both people in the car were uninjured, but the turkey was killed in the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
