CNN reported that the Seattle-area family watched the baby closely to see what would happen.

The dad told Redditors, "If it doesn't pass naturally in two weeks, they will go get it," meaning that doctors would have to use other methods to extract the ring if it didn't naturally pass.

But other than fussing at the hospital, their son didn't show any discomfort, and the platinum band was found during a diaper search a day later.

As proof, the baby's father shared a not-safe-for-work image in the thread.

The dad hopes people don't judge them too harshly. "He's the third. The third practically raises themselves," he said.
