Weather and speed were factors in a Friday crash that killed two in Barrow County.

Winder police Sgt. Chris Cooper said Sunday that Aaron Elliot Burnsed, 37, of Toccoa and Jonathan Nix, 25, of Talmo were killed Friday when their vehicle skidded off of Ga. 53, which was wet from heavy rain. They were killed instantly, police said, but a third passenger was uninjured.

Burnsed was driving the vehicle during the crash between Cedar Valley Trail and Hillcrest Drive. No other vehicles were involved.

A toxicology report is pending, Cooper said.
