A water main break on Dunwoody Village Parkway left several area businesses without water, including Dunwoody Prep.

The private day care and pre-school decided to close early since there was no water coming into the building, the school told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Bob Mullen, Dunwoody spokesman, said he is not sure how many businesses are affected, but public works is aware of the situation.

The city is working with DeKalb County to “get this fixed as soon as possible,” Mullen said.

Kerry Arias, owner of Cutie Pies Children’s Boutique, said she hopes water service to her store is restored soon.

“We opened at 9:30 a.m. and it was out then,” she said. “It is inconvenient because if we have to go to the bathroom, we have to go somewhere else. But our customers are fine and I don’t think they’ve noticed.”

Publix and Moe’s Southwest Grill, which are on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, have water, both stores told The AJC.
