UPS worker arrested after allegedly threatening mass shooting at his workplace
A United Parcel Service worker has been arrested after allegedly sending a series of threatening texts about a mass shooting at his northern California workplace.
Thomas Andrews, 32, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County jail, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. Andrews is facing charges of criminal threats, evading police, driving under the influence and several counts of weapons violations.

Police said they began investigating Sunday after receiving a report Andrews sent text messages to his employer indicating he was planning a mass shooting. Police found four handguns and a rifle were registered in Andrews’ name.

Andrews was located by police around 11:15 p.m. Police said they tried to stop Andrews, but he led them in a pursuit down Highway 101. California Highway Patrol joined the chase and Andrews was eventually arrested.

Police found more than 20,000 rounds of handgun and rifle ammunition, high capacity magazines, five tactical style rifles, a shot gun, three handguns and body armor. Several backpacks with ammunition were at the front door of the apartment.

"We're aware of the situation and we are cooperating fully with authorities as they conduct their investigation," UPS told CNN.
