Four teenagers wanted in the on-campus shooting of a Clayton State University student last weekend have been arrested, the GBI announced Wednesday.

Ra’him Sykes, 18; Zydarius Arkady Brewer, 18; Braylen Tremaine Staples, 19; and Terrance Woods, 18, are being held at the Troup County jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery, agency spokeswoman Nelly Miles said.

The shooting occurred at the Laker Hall dormitory shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, AJC.com previously reported.

“One of four individuals visiting Laker Hall discharged a weapon, striking a student,” university spokeswoman Asia Hauter said at the time.

The injured student, whose name was not released, was helped by fellow students and campus police officers before being taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, the GBI said. He remains in critical condition.

The four suspects left the Morrow campus in a car following the shooting, authorities said. The vehicle spotted fleeing the dormitory on Clayton State’s surveillance cameras was found abandoned in LaGrange about three hours later.

All four suspects are from LaGrange and none of them are Clayton State students, Miles said.

“In addition, the four males were in Laker Hall without the knowledge or consent of the university,” she said. “The shooting is not believed to be a random incident.”
