Atlanta entertainer Tyler Perry has teamed up with Georgia’s first lady for a public service announcement urging others to join the fight against human trafficking.

“Working together, we can be the force of good that ends human trafficking once and for all,” Perry says in the video, which posted online this week.

The one-minute video, produced by Tyler Perry Studios, urges viewers to participate in First Lady Marty Kemp’s Human Trafficking Awareness Training to learn about warning signs and get help. Watch the video here.

“We are deeply grateful to Tyler Perry for his dedicated work and leadership to support survivors and raise awareness about human trafficking,” Kemp said in an emailed statement. “With his partnership, more Georgians will be equipped with the knowledge to identify potential instances of trafficking - but most importantly, they will be equipped with the ability to save lives.”

Kemp and Gov. Brian Kemp have made fighting sex trafficking a priority, helping pass legislation to crack down on those responsible. Kemp also created the Georgians for Refuge, Action, Compassion, and Education Commission after taking office.

In February, the Kemps attended a ribbon-cutting at the state’s first residential intake center for trafficked youth, located in Paulding County. Last week, Gov. Kemp announced the creation of a new GBI unit dedicated to fighting human trafficking and ending “modern-day slavery.”
