Repairs are finally complete to a 6-inch water main, which broke Friday morning and left some DeKalb County residents without water and closed roads.

Just before 6 p.m., crews repaired the break in the 5800 block of Rockbridge Road, which is near South Hairston Road, the county said in a statement.

Rockbridge Road, which was closed to traffic, has been reopened.

Officials have not specified how many customers were affected, but said a 16-inch main and an 8-inch main provided service to some in the area.

The incident came nine days after a 48-inch water main broke on Buford Highway, crippling DeKalb’s water system and disrupting a multitude of services.
