It may be Wednesday before workers can free a 55,000-pound truck from a sinkhole in Hall County, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The truck, which was carrying 1,600 gallons of water, is trapped in a parking lot at Wallis and Branch roads in Oakwood near I-985, Hall fire spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett said.

The sinkhole was 8-to-10 feet deep, Channel 2 reported.

The truck belongs to Canada-based Badger Daylighting company, which specializes in hydrovac trucks, the Gainesville Times reported.

An early fuel leak was stopped, and workers were trying to remove the water from the truck’s tanks, the Times reported.

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division and utility companies were notified, Brackett said.

No injuries were reported.
