One person was killed Sunday in a wrong-way crash in Forsyth County, the sheriff’s office said.

Wachovia Thompson, 26, of the city of Forsyth in Monroe County, died on the scene, Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy Phil Alexander said.

Deputies and county fire crews responded to the accident about 2:50 p.m. on Browns Bridge Road near Floyd Lane. They learned the driver of a 2002 Infiniti lost control and crossed from eastbound to westbound lanes of Browns Bridge Road. Thompson was a passenger in the front seat.

The Infiniti hit a 2006 Chevrolet K3500 truck, authorities said.

The driver of the Infiniti — Ryan Travanti Stephens, 34, of Gainesville — was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The other driver and two children riding with him were also taken to a local hospital. They didn’t have life-threatening injuries, officials said.
