Icy road conditions contributed to a crash that involved an Atlanta Police Department vehicle and a Georgia State Patrol car, authorities said Wednesday.

About 9:30 a.m., a trooper investigating a crash on Washington Street was in his car, the Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

Atlanta police also responded, and the officer lost control of his vehicle after traveling over ice, according to the release.

“The APD vehicle struck the rear of the trooper's vehicle, causing moderate damage,” according to the release.

No injuries were reported.
