One person was ejected and several were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that shut down I-75 South in Clayton County late Wednesday night.

The collision happened about 11 p.m., when heavy rain was pushing east through metro Atlanta.  All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed north of Fielder Road for several hours overnight while authorities were on scene.

By 1 a.m., authorities began reopening the lanes.

Clayton County police said Thursday morning the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Lillie Graves told AJC.com her siblings were seriously injured in the crash. Linda Graves, 28, was taken to a local hospital with multiple fractures and injuries to several organs due to blunt trauma. Her brother, Kenneth, 22, sustained “a severe head injury which caused bleeding on his brain,” Lillie Graves said.

Kenneth’s girlfriend and another friend were also in the car at the time.

Both Kenneth and Linda are expected to be in the hospital for an extended period of time, she said. The Graves family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with hospital bills and other medical expenses when the siblings return home.
