Traffic is moving again more than five hours after a deadly crash initially shut down I-285 East in Sandy Springs.

Lanes reopened just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

As of 6 p.m., law enforcement officials had not released such details as the number of vehicles involved, the number of fatalities or injured or the severity of the incident.

It was initially reported just before 9:20 a.m. at Roswell Road, Sandy Springs police Sgt. Sam Worsham said.

Eastbound traffic was diverted onto Riverdale Road for hours, Sandy Springs police said.
