A driver was extricated after his vehicle went down an embankment at I-85 southbound and Metropolitan Parkway on Tuesday night, Atlanta police said.

Metropolitan Parkway was temporarily closed as officers worked to determine how the man landed in the embankment, Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah said.

No other details were released.
