The Atlanta Streetcar has shut down temporarily for emergency repairs to an underground Georgia Power cable, officials said in a statement Monday night.

Services were suspended at 6 p.m. Monday while crews accessed the streetcar right-of-way at the corner of Auburn Avenue and Jesse Hill Road, spokeswoman Antoinette Govan said. The cable failure is located at the Georgia Power facility near the Butler substation on Auburn Avenue.

Repairs are expected to last two days, with service resuming at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
