A portion of the Downtown Connector was shut down for more than two hours early Wednesday after an Atlanta police officer was involved in a crash.

“The officer was en route to assist another unit and struck a vehicle in a nearby lane,” Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah said.

The chase involved a stolen vehicle, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The driver who was struck by the officer complained of leg pain, police said. No other injuries were reported.

The crash shut down a right lane on the Downtown Connector from about 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. at Langford Parkway, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
