A major interstate in DeKalb County has reopened after a crash caused authorities to shut it down at lunchtime Thursday.

All northbound lanes of I-285 were closed at U.S. 29, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. The details of the incident are not clear, but two cars were involved, according to Georgia Department of Transportation cameras.

Heading into the lunchtime commute, police began telling drivers on I-285 to turn around. All lanes reopened shortly before 12:20 p.m. after the investigation was complete, but heavy delays remained.
