An overnight pileup in Coweta County had roads closed for roughly five hours, according to radio news reports.

Two tractor-trailers crashed on I-85 southbound near Newnan around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, spilling diesel fuel onto the highway and catching fire, AM 750 and 95.5 FM WSB News/Talk Radio reports.

One of the big rigs hit a median and was hanging off the road. Another overturned. Three additional cars and a pickup truck were involved in the pileup, according to reports.

At least one person had to be flown to a nearby hospital.

All southbound lanes remained closed until just before 5 a.m. as crews cleaned up the fuel spill and removed debris from the roadway, authorities said.

The interstate is expected to be closed again at 8 a.m. so that crews can remove one of the trucks from the highway, according to reports.
