What employer (other than the government) would have workers who are non-essential?

The problem with voting out incumbents: voters always think the problem lies with everybody else's incumbent politicians, and not their own.

What's missing in Washington? Intelligence and leadership.

It is truly amazing how people want to blame one party or the other for the shutdown. Pay attention, people: they are all involved.

Folks, say so-long to dropping gas prices, with Hurricane Karen in the Gulf.

Congress was not designed as a career opportunity. It should be one term, with no wasted time campaigning. Then, those in office should go get a real job.

Fellow Americans, since we are not getting the government nor the services for which we are paying, it's time to have a "Taxpayer Shutdown".

You can't work out a solution with people who only care about making a political statement.

My goal is to be debt-free by age 25. I've got less than two years, and I'm half-way there.

It is so nice to be able to visit my parents for the weekends. I never knew how good I had it until I moved out.

For what possible reason does the administration spend a fortune fencing off open-air parks, monuments, and beaches?

You can console yourself with the knowledge that, if the government is shut down, it can't add any more complications to your life.
