Michael and Whitney Lash say their faith has guided them through the aftermath of an Aug. 16 home invasion that left Michael and Whitney traumatized after a teenage gunman shot Michael's legs and fired shots at Whitney and their baby. 2. Braves pitch important anti-bullying message

Popular Braves players including pitcher Shelby Miller and the now-traded outfielder Jonny Gomes stressed the importance of "striking out" bullying in a public service announcement distributed to 100 metro Atlanta schools. 3. Attorney: No criminal charges in Parkview baseball assault case

An attorney for one of the alleged victims said Wednesday that criminal charges will not be filed against the Parkview High School baseball players who were accused of physically and sexually assaulting teammates at a hotel in South Carolina. According to attorney Kurt Hilbert, although at least one of the four alleged victims has come forward and given a statement to North Charleston, S.C., police last month, they have decided not to pursue the case. 4. Smith's Olde Bar granted lease extension through end of 2015

When the property was put up for auction Aug. 28, the music venue/restaurant that hosted hundreds of concerts for 23 years was threatened with vacating its Atlanta strip mall locale. The owner-operator of the venue, however, was able to renegotiate to keep the space until at least Jan. 1. Read more.

5. Person found dead after Canton house fire
