2. Make-A-Wish Georgia will help Dacula teen meet Pope Francis in Rome

Make-A-Wish Georgia is sending 17-year-old Gino Vizzi, his parents and his younger sister, to Rome to attend a public mass officiated by Pope Francis. Vizzi was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia in 2014. Read more.

3. Gwinnett approves increased money for school interpreters

The county's school board members voted unanimously on Thursday to allow them to spend up to $1.5 million on translators and interpreters, a need that officials say has increased with the influx of students and their family members who speak little to no English.
