Q: Is there any hope that Dish Network and Fox Sports South will come to an agreement about Atlanta Braves broadcasts before the season is over?
— Susan Miles, Marietta
A: Fox Sports and Dish Network continue to be at an impasse regarding Braves games that Fox Sports South added to its schedule last winter. Fox Sports South bought an additional 47 games that originally were scheduled to air on Peachtree TV. The network and Dish have been unable to agreed to terms on additional fees for those games, so Dish Network customers haven't been able to watch those games this season. They have been able to view the 105 Braves games originally scheduled to be shown on Fox Sports South or SportSouth, but not the games — mostly on weekends — that were affected by this switch. "Dish was offered the same fair deal that every other provider in the metro Atlanta area agreed to months ago," Fox Sports South said in an email statement to Q&A on the News. "Despite what they continue to tell their customers, Dish has still not engaged in any kind of discussion with respect to these remaining Braves telecasts." Dish Network responded to a customer last weekend on Twitter with this statement: "We continue to negotiate with Fox Sports in hopes that our customers do not have to miss any additional games." Other cable and satellite providers, including AT&T U-verse, Xfinity, DirecTV and Charter, agreed to Fox Sport South's terms, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in April. There are 11 remaining games affected by this situation.
