Q: What are the criteria that must be met in order for a high school to be classified as 1A through 6A in the Georgia High School Association? — Ernest D. Mweleka, Stone Mountain

A: The largest 14 percent to 17 percent of the GHSA's 450 member schools, based on the number of full-time equivalent students, are placed in the highest classification (6A or AAAAAA), according to the association's "Constitution and By-Laws, 2013-14." The next 14 percent to 17 percent are in 5A (or AAAAA), a formula that also is used for schools placed into AAAA, AAA and AA. The remaining 21 percent to 22 percent of schools are placed in Class A. Schools are reclassified every two years based "on the FTE count for students in Grades 9-11 provided by the Georgia Department of Education for the fall semester of the second year of the current reclassification cycle."

Q: The woman who downsized (Senior Living, "Finding a good fit key to downsizing," Homefinder, Jan. 5) mentioned a gentleman that had a warehouse and would buy "stuff" in bulk. Is it possible to get his name and information on his business? — Beverly Moss, Atlanta

A: The business is SpendThrift (678-342-0521, spendthriftfurn.com), a store in Covington that sells pre-owned furniture, appliances, home decor and other items. Co-owner William Lucas said individuals will call and tell him what they are trying to get rid of, and then he'll determine whether he wants to buy it. In some cases, he has bought the entire household, said Lucas, who also attends storage unit auctions.
