A: Starz said it canceled "Boss" after its second season because viewership dropped from its first year and it had only U.S. rights to distribute the show, according to published reports. Lionsgate TV has international and DVD rights, according to Deadline.com. "Boss" averaged 937,000 viewers in its second season, down from an average of 1.1 million in its first season, when the show earned a Golden Globe nomination and star Kelsey Grammer won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Starz had ordered the second season of the show before it premiered in 2011, but then canceled the series in November. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.com have both reported that a two-hour, series-clinching move was in the works, but Grammer has committed to a movie called "Reach Me."
